JF Creations

I love meeting people from all over the world that also love to do what I love doing! On my quest to explore the world my stop placed me in Germany. I had the pleasure of getting the scoop on German photographer Jacqueline Filmore. Her work can be described as playful, candid, and refreshing...
Jacqueline started JF Creations photography in April 2012. She loves using natural light

and nature as inspiration for her images. God has given her a gift to make "Anyone a Model".

Here is the exclusive info about Jacqueline:

Jacqueline Filmore

KN: What part of Germany are you from?

JF: Ansbach,Germany

KN: Describe the Fashion culture in your home town.

JF: It`s a small city but people definitely  go with the current style, mostly what is in style in the U.S.A

KN: What do you like about photography?

JF: My favorite thing is to make women feel like they are models... even if it's only for a moment. I love the **omg is this me ** look when they receive the photos. I hardly ever use Photoshop. It is about catching this moment, that smile, and that gorgeous look at the right time.

KN: Do you prefer in the studio photography or on location photography?

JF: Definitely outdoor

KN: What theme would you use for an epic fashion shoot?

JF: I would like to have my models fly! Somehow:-)(Helicopter,Bungee or so on)

KN: How do you get your models to relax?

JF: I joke with them or just keep simple conversation.

KN: Do you plan to crossover into any other industries? Ex Entertainment ,Art, etc

JF: No,not really,Photography is all I need.

KN: .When did you discover your gift for photography?

JF: In January  2012 I discovered my gift, but I really started using it in April 2012.

KN: Are you as good in front of the camera as you are behind the camera?

JF: Oh no !!Lol..Behind the camera is best for me.

KN:What’s up next for your company?

JF: I would love to publish more in magazines and travel to other countries for breathtaking locations.

Your Kids Wear What?

Sassy Girlz Inc
Founded by Dayna Cruthird-Wright with her daughter Ashlynn Wright and her son Guy Wright,Your Kids Wear What is a new online store that caters to children. This store was created because the children are always coming up with creative things they want to wear. They love mixing colors and prints. Their creativity is ingenious. Six year old Guy has his line of bow ties called "Guy's Ties " and Ashlynn (11) also has a flare for fashion. She has a line for girls called "Sassy Girlz Inc." The line includes custom suspenders with rhinestones and buttons plus tutu's for girls.

KN: Is it exciting to work with your children?

DW: I love working my my children. They are balls of energy and always keep me on my toes.

KN:  How important is having a childlike imagination during the design process?

DW: When designing for children you have to be extra creative. Just because I like something does not mean the children will like it too. That's when I channel my inner child and get my whimsical  juices flowing. This is when it also comes in handy that I work with my children because I can always ask their opinion.

KN: Are you guys going to incorporate clothing?

DW: We hope to incorporate clothing some time in the near future. This is just the beginning for Your Kids Wear What?

KN: How long have you been designing?

DW: I grew up in a house with a super seamstress, my mother is a awesome designer. She would always ask my opinion on things she made. I really started getting really involved in designing over the past two years and I love it!

KN: When should we expect a fashion show?

Guys Ties
DW: We hope to have our first show towards the end of the year. My daughter Ashlynn participated in her first show a couple of years ago. She was very excited that she showed three looks, it was a very proud moment for our family. We are looking forward to Guy showing his ties, he likes to call them" Guy's Ties" they are trendy ties for boys and girls!

KN:  Is this going to be a global project?

DW: I would love for this to go global. I can't wait to get our first order from another country!

KN: How do you balance being a mom and being a business owner?

DW: Being a business owner is easy. The hard part is being a mom. I want to be the very best mom for my children. I want them to be proud of me but I also want them to know I will always be there for them. I never want to miss a important moment in their lives because I'm busy working.

KN: What is your most favorite piece ever made?

DW: My favorite piece has to be a hello kitty tutu I made for one of my customers daughters. It was a one of a kind design and they just loved it.

KN: How do the kids get their creative juices flowing?

DW: I think the kids are most creative after doing something they feel is fun. It could be playing outside or going swimming. We will get home and sit down to the table and their energy is non-stop. Sometimes I have to put the materials away because they will go on for hours creating.

KN: Take us to the future of your business…….

DW: In the future I'm planning to open a store. Don't get me wrong having an online store is great, but I love having that face to face experience with my customers. We look forward to sharing our creations with everyone.

Dayna, Ashylnn,and Guy

The Influence of Southern Women in the Entertainment Industry

When people think of the South, the thing that comes to mind is cows, pigs, chickens, green pastures, and slurred accents. Many assumptions are made that southerners have no sense of style or class. My perspective about this isn't biased because I’m from New Orleans. It is a known fact that most Southern women have style and flavorful taste. There are many well -known beauties that continue to pave the way for the Southern fashionistas.

Representing Dallas, TX, Erykah Badu , Queen of Neo-Soul , emerged on the scene with her natural hairstyles and amazing voice plus beauty. Ms. Badu made it ok to wear your head wrapped in public with her large and colorful head
wraps (which came in handy on bad hair days, lol). The Bohemian look became popular worldwide thanks to Baduizm and is still a top style to rock. (Photo Courtesy of eyongdenis.com)

After her breakthrough role in “Training Day”, this Cuban doll born in Miami, Florida  jumped directly to the A-list. Since her rise to fame, Eva Mendes has been a spokes model for REVLON, Calvin Klein, Cartier Jewelry, and Pantene just to name a few. Eva created a home décor line “Vida” that is sold only at Macy’s. Her fashion style is sassy, classy, and spicy! (Photo Courtesy of accessories.about.com)

Beyonce Knowles-Carter puts Houston,TX on the map. Sexy, sophisticated, blazing, and innovative describes her signature style which is always copied. This young woman has already influenced music and fashion so she had to cross over to the sports industry with her recent Performance at the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans. Mrs. Carter is a spokes model for L’Oreal and has been since she was 18. Tommy Hilfiger has launched two perfumes with Beyonce True Star and True Star Gold. She also has the House of Dereon which she runs alongside her mother Tina Knowles. (Photo Courtesy of multiculturalbeauty.about.com)

So there it is and the proof is in this blog post! Sothern women have a great influence in the fashion and music industry. Kela B.

Fashion Week New Orleans 2013 Top Design Competition

There could only be one winner but the competition was tough! The judges even had a hard time selecting just three designers so they voted to have four! Nathan Walker was not chosen for the top four however in the words of Keicia Shanta (Fashion Editor) of Fashion Crush One, his work is phucking fierce!

Next up is Katherine Faust who was one of the top 4 selected. Her line combines sexiness mixed with conservative!
Overall there were some very creative designers but only room for one champion. To find out who the finalist were click the link http://www.fashioncrushone.com
