Crystal Harris was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga known for its culture, fashion, music and history. At an early age, Crystal was deeply influenced by art of all facets particularly what is now known as her trademark, “urban glamour”. Having such a huge interest and appreciation for design drew her to a career as a fashion designer where she would use her inherited intuitiveness to ultimately create the perfect picture of style known as “Nya Nya” couture.

Nya Nya Couture was established in 2004 in Atlanta, Ga. A product of edgy couture by the designer: Crystal Harris. The company’s name originated from her daughter, Nyah who was born in 2002. Nya Nya Couture is a fusion of bold vibrant colors, timeless textures with edgy patterns and embellishments that come together for that “urban glamour” look. Pieces can be worn casual as well as to night events. No two pieces are alike and many include hand crafted detail and/or embellishments.

To bring to the world a new standard: “urban glamour”. Specializing in bustiers: for large busted women with smaller waists. Quality fabric, fit and style is essential to gain the look. Nya Nya sets out to make the “fly” flier, the classy even classier and to catapult into the leading House of design for the cutting edge fashion of the future.

*How do you select your models? Runway walk, posture, great personality, and camera friendly.

*What's your favorite part about conceptualizing a design? Taking a fabric and sewing it onto another fabric, that you would have never thought to put together.

*Do you prefer sketching designs or actually constructing them? Constructing, because it gives me the ability to be even more creative as i construct the piece.

*How do you prepare for a fashion shoot or show? Pack everything the day before

What other experience do you have in the fashion industry (stylist, retail, marketing, etc.)? Retail, Marketing, Fashion stylist, and Fashion show coordinator.

*How long does it usually take you to construct a piece?

1-4 hours depending on if I am embellishing the item.

*What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion means to me the ability to be different and start your own trend, make your own statement.

Put pieces together and wear it with confidence.

*What matters to you most as a fashion designer?

The ability to produce pieces that people will notice without looking at the label and know that Nya Nya Couture design that.

*What are your favorite fabrics to work with and why?

Chiffon because it looks girly when i make my bustiers. Leathers and furs because it brings the fierce side of me out.

*What are some of your fashion goals?

Fashion goals to produce handbags,shoes and accessories in 2012
